Oil special pipe is mainly used for oil and gas well drilling and oil and gas transmission. It includes oil drill pipe, oil special pipe and oil recovery pipe. Oil drill pipe is mainly used to connect drill collar and drill bit and transmit drilling power. The casing is mainly used to support the well wall during drilling and after completion to ensure the normal operation of the whole well during and after drilling. The tubing is mainly used to transport oil and gas from the bottom of the well to the surface. The oil well casing is the lifeline that keeps the well running. Due to different geological conditions and complex downhole stress states, the joint action of tensile, compressive, bending and torsional stresses on the tubing body places higher demands on the quality of the casing itself. Once the casing itself is damaged for some reason, the production of the whole well may be reduced or even scrapped.

After nearly 20 years of efforts, the production of oil special tubing in China has grown from scratch, from low price to high price, from low steel grade to API series products, to non-API products with special needs, and has approached the level of foreign oil special tubing from quantity to quality. China's domestic market share of oil well pipes has exceeded 80% and has been a net exporter for many years. 2011, China's crude oil production reached 204 million tons, up 0.32% over the same period in 2010; natural gas production reached 102,531 million cubic meters, up 6.9% year-on-year, a record high. China is still in a phase of rapid urbanization and industrialization, and oil demand is expected to grow by about 4% per year in the coming years. The increase in oil demand is driving increased demand for oil drilling and production equipment in China. Based on the regional distribution in China, the demand for oil and casing is no longer concentrated in the eastern region. Looking at the development trend of domestic oil and gas fields, from the initial development of eastern fields such as Daqing, Liaohe and Shengli, to the development of western fields such as Sichuan and Xinjiang, we will focus on the development trend of offshore oil fields. In addition, we will develop from land to beach and from shallow sea to deep sea. In addition, the drilling depth is getting deeper and deeper, and the drilling situation is getting more and more complicated, so the requirements for oil and casing are bound to get higher and higher.
